There are reputable shops on here for it, i cant remember them though, lol. But just find a local shop as mentioned that reputable, i got a local shop to do my head work once, and everythings been fine.

I sent out a few emails, I wasn't sure what listing they'd be under. I'm bad when it comes to taking my stuff places to have it worked on since I love doing the work myself. Maybe I should familiarize myself a little better with my surroundings

You obviously don't know who there are.
I'm not saying Larry and crew are THE only ones to go to. They are just a very viable option. You get what you pay for.

I obviously don't.
I'm not about to spend 600 dollars on something that isn't even going to do that much.
I can just as easily take it somewhere down the street and pay 1/10 the price.
I know I get what I pay for, but what they do is wayyy more than I need.
Sorry, I'm not trying to be a dick, I really do appreciate your advice.

edit:
nm i guess they send theirs out to be machined at other shops. but they'll refer you shops that can i suppose

If you're not willing to spend $600 to have a ported head, then I get the feeling that it really isn't your next upgrade. Personally, I would never pay UNDER 1,000 for a ported cylinder head....but thats just me. Whats your list of mods, maybe we can help you chose an option that would better suit you?

to buy a ported head, or to have your head ported?
i have an extra head VTEC lying around. spending 1000 dollars to have someone make a couple of holes bigger is obsurd, considering the cost:hp gain. After a lot of thinking I'm not going to have my head milled, because I don't want to increase my compression too much with a stock bottom end.
My next few upgrades are going to be skunk2 valvetrain, camshaft, IM and get it tuned. But i would like to do these mods to my spare head to save some of the hassle. And while I have it off I was going to take it somewhere, and have a little work done, nothing too much as this will still be my dd. Planning for boost in the future, i left that part out above, and im leaving the bottom end stock untill i have a little more engine building experience under my belt and some more cash flow.
thanks

If you're ******* creating threads asking about headwork, yet have never heard of RLZ then STOP ****** posting and READ the numerous threads about cylinder heads!

geez sounds like i hit a sensitive spot, no need to get all worked up. im not sure if u can read or not but i did search and i have reasearched, you gave me an answer, i didn't like it. don't get pissed because im not like you. I'm not looking for someone to build my head for me or doing anything crazy, but that's a lot of money that doesnt yield very beneficial results. so just gtfo of here because you're not helping you're just pissing me off. I in no way offended you, just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean one of us is wrong.
ill probably just take it to a machine shop around my house.

You gave me attitude to start, thats why I came off the way I did. You keep mentioning the "beneficial results." I've seen dyno's yeilding 15-20WHP increases in certain motors, sometimes even more. If you don't find that beneficial then I'm not sure what you're looking for, if you're so convinced you're not going to gain anything from it then why do it? Cylinder head porting isn't just making holes bigger, if that were the case then anyone with a grinder could do it.
