Default sloppy shifter.. how to fix? cost much?

Hey everyone, well i have a 97 civic cx hb and the shifter feels like that of a 70s Vdub.. when its in gear there its tons of play, and sometimes it doesnt like to come out of reverse...

any input at all would be amazing, how much to fix at a shop.. what it is.. etc , thanks!

Also try tightening the bolt that holds the linkage to the shifter itself, if there is a lot of of play in there then throw a washer or 2 in there & that should fix the "play while in gear" problem.

Go get an Energy Suspension shifter bushing kit. They're pretty cheap, $15 or so should cover it. That and an hour or so to put them in and you'll fix your woes.
