car will not turn over. hmphhh
well today i had problems with my SI hatch, got a 95 d16z6 with the original 89 si tranny with ACT flywheel and 6 puck Comp Clutch (no grinds or pop outs in any gear mind you) . ive been experiencing this problem for a few days and i think today the car has had enough. Well the only way to start my car is dumping the clutch but normally sits as if the car is ready to be turned over, could it be my starter or alternator? when i try to turn it over, it wont click or anything, so im pretty much stumped. The battery has been relocated to the trunk when i went to sell my extra z6 head today, the guy came and looked and was like it might be the fact my battery is in the trunk and that its overloading the starter with the long *** cable, anyone else have this problem? the guy i got the car off said he replaced the starter, before it took 3-4 turns of the key to start the car. now it just wont turn over, when i dump the clutch, the car runs fine like it should, anyone got any suggestions?
do you have power to the radio and lights before you start it? alternator is probably fine. sounds like the ignition switch or the wire on top of the starter. mine popped off once. do you have a multimeter? you can figure out what's going on real fast.
power to everything but the engine is perfectly fine. i didnt think it was the alternator.
no dont have a multimeter, what do those do and how much are they?
and what wire on top of the starter? the lil black one? the positive and neg? i think they are fine, thats what dude told me when he looked under the hood. might as well check again.

im having the same problem, i rigged up a clutch kill switch and i believe its going out cause when i cant turn the engine, i push the clutch in and release the clutch letting it slam into its original position *like pulling the clutch back and letting it go* and it starts to turn
you might want to check your main relay? im having both problems randoms times now, off to the junkyard for a main relay

my clutch pedal, i have to push it all the way to the floor to start it. but when i shift i push it half way and im good. maybe thats it? cable of course, should i adjust the switch on the pedal itself? and how did you bypass it?
hmmm what i did was instead of the clutch pedal acting as a "switch" i hooked it up to another switch. its just 2 wires and when you push the clutch in completes a circuit. but if you want to mess around with the wires, its located "on my crx" really high above the clutch pedal, theres 2 connectors you will see under the dash, and it was for me the highest one.
well guys, now something else has happened, when i put my key in you know how theres "I" "II" on the actual key chamber, it wont goto "I" even now. the thing wont turn at all. do you guys think that was the problem? cause it wont turn to the on position at all anymore. how can i bypass this to start the car cause im thinking thats the problem as in the tumbler inside the ignition is probably all [freak]ed.

Sry man no1 is going to help teach you how to hot wire a car because all of a sudden tons of people are going to read this post learn how and start stealing peeps cars
my best suggestion would be to get a haynes manual, learn how to replace the clutch switch, and replace it. when you start modding things, they get more complicated. honda made things the way they are for a reason

</TD></TR></TABLE>as stated i got past that part, the plug on the back of the key ignition was lose thus not allowing it to turn all the way.
i know where the clutch switch is, so yea i tried to press it in and turn the key, so no bueno, are they known to go bad?

Check the connections of the cable from the battery. A loose connection can cause all sorts of problems.
Im not really sure what you mean by dump the clutch. Are you talking about "bump" starting the car?

dumping the clutch = having it in first holding the clutch down while its rolling at 2mphs or more and letting go of the clutch pedal while hitting the gas
i dunno, ive always called it that
