Knocking/Clanking coming from head!! HELP!
Hey guys,
The other day i just finished installing my aebs intake mani on my b16aand i was letting the car warm up after filling the rad to get the air bubbles out and after about 10 mins of idling i hear this metal on metal clanking. All the bolts/nuts were accounted for and I triple checked the manifold before i installed it. Also as soon as we took the original one off we put paper towel in the ports to make sure nothing would fall in.
So the noise is a pretty loud clanking and its coming from the head, somewhere near the dizzy. I did the spark plug test to check if it was a rod bearing and the sound was constant, it didn't change on any cylinders so not a rod bearing.
I did a comp test and all the cylinders were perfect.
I pulled the cams out tonight to check for anything in the head and everything looks good, LMA's are all in perfect working condition.....
Its a slow Clank clank clank and is rpm dependent but im 100% positive its from the head near the dizzy, if a dizzy bearing goes bad it wont make a loud clanking will it??
Thanks
