Hondata recommends PLX, but most others will also work. You don't "need" a display.

when you buy the wideband, it will have installation instructions.

AEM, zeitronix, innovate, plx.....etc, they will all work.

Hondata ONLY recommends the PLX though.
I think this is because you do not have to correct a voltage offset. You just plug it in and it works. I use the PLX m-300 and have had no issues with it so far.
Their forum has countless threads with people having issues adjusting the voltage offset to try and get the display of the controller to match the Hondata software.
Most of those are the AEM and the Innovate wideband.

Just a FYI

i spent a lot of time researching the aem + hondata issue and it looks like a lot of people had unsolved issues.

looks like something i would AVOID

yea ive had problems with my AEM, they say it works but even with the voltage offset it still doesnt mimick the display very well..... i can set it to match my idle perfectly, say 14.7, but once it drops below that at full throttle, or above that under light load, it can get off by a few tenths from the guage

......... so its kind of a guessing game by a few tenths............ i would say stay with PLX, even though i love my AEM it does have some hassles with the s300

AEM has been argued to be the least accurate wideband on the market by quite a few people.

Remember that when you wire up your wideband you get GREAT sources of power/ground. You do not want your wideband being subject to voltage differences as it will throw off your readings.

I have the PLX M300 and no problems here.
