Blown Tire...
so i was coming down from big bear and the truck in front of me runs over this block of ice/snow and it pretty much flings it at me. it catches my front passenger side tire and right away i hear the air escaping. so i pull over and replace it with a spare thinking that i'll be covered by the tirerack's road hazard program. i call them and they inform me that because it has been over a year, i'll only get partial reimbursement. well, i think to myself, at least i'm getting something... but the real problem i had to face was the fact that Kumho had discontinued the Ecsta SPT and nobody had the 205/45/16s left over.
the question i have is, what would be the best "replacement" for just one tire? even though the kumhos i have on right now are more than a year old, i barely have 10,000 miles on them if that and so don't really feel like replacing all 4 tires (can't really afford to seeing how i am having to borrow $60,000/yr for school).
any advice would be highly appreciated. thank you.

pretty much had to drive 30-40 miles down the mountain. worst part of it was, the key to the wheel lock was in my room and so had to ask a friend to bring it to me. the cars been pretty much sitting in the garage since. i need to find a replacement... does anyone think the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport will suffice?
if i were you, i would buy 2 new tires and put them in the front. mis-match tread design+wear will lead you to a new pair sooner or later. Then sell your Spare Kumho on craigslist for a few bucks. i sold this pos tire with about 75% tread left for 25 bucks.
Kumho has not discontinued the SPT. The Tire Rack doesn't always have the 205/45-16 in stock, that's all. Some other places often have them, or you can call Kumho.
Several tires are similar in performance characteristics to the SPT, similar enough that you could mix them without serious harm. The most similar are the Fuzion ZRi, Avon Tech M500, and Yokohama S.drive and ES100. The BFG g-Force Sport and Dunlop Direzza DZ101 are a slight step down in performance.
