SoCal Area Track Car Roll Call
Reading H-T, it never seems to amaze me how many serious track cars there are in and around SoCal. Many of them, I've never seen.
It occurs to me that there may never be "one event" that could draw all these cars out to. Likewise, its unlikely we'd all have them running at the same time. Or be able to pay for gas and track fees on the same weekend. So I thought it'd be cool to start a SoCal area track car thread just to see what's in the area...
Please post photos, snaps and info if your car fits any of the following descriptions:
• Competes in SCCA
• Competes in NASA
• Competes in Time Attack
• Needs a trailer because its not legal to drive
• has a full cage
• over the last two years has been driven more miles on the track than on public roads
• possesses some other characteristic that makes it a TRUE track car (rather than just a car you track)
• has actually BEEN to the track (and isn't still in the project stage...)
Here's mine:
NASA H2 and E1 (enduro)
Race Car Description: 1991 Honda Civic Hatchback
Original owner car purchased new by Thawley while in college at Art Center College of Design. The car has been the subject of a number of tech and race stories throughout the years and has seen prior coverage in Sport Compact Car, Super Street, Turbo magazines as well as countless appearances on popular import web sites.
Build Philosophy: Simple, Dependable, Consistent
Honda has many millions of dollars and billions of miles in research and development this chassis and drivetrain. We believe Honda OEM parts are among the best in the world. We look to the aftermarket only when certain factory parts have proven inadequate for racing use.

• Custom aluminum air-dam with Alumalite splitter and undertray

• Double wishbone strut with monoball suspension bushings
• Koni/PIC adjustable shocks (depending on track and setup)
• Hypercoil race springs
• Progress Technology adjustable, rear anti-roll bar

• Fastbrakes/Wilwood 2-piston rear brake calipers
• Hawk Performance brake pads
• 15x7 aluminum wheels
• 225/50-15 DOT competition tires
• SPC components for camber and alignment adjustments

This is a track/street car.
The most street time it saw this year was to drive to California Speedway.
The most street time it saw last year was on and off the trailer at Buttonwillow, and to bed in my brakes.
Coming soon.....

About to come out in SO CAL H1 any minute now once I get a few bugs in the car worked out. Hope to run a few Time Attack events as well.
Too much to list-
NASA Spec cage
Full Progress suspension
Gear- X Final Drive
Clutchmasters clutch
Advanced Street Performance Header and exhaust
Rota Wheels
All work done by me in my garage
This car has seen 8 track days in 2007 with a GSR engine and over the winter got a new engine, added a cage and safety items and painted it. Did one lap at California Speedway in March with an axle issue. Looking forwad to getting it dailed in at the next event and hopefully get racing soon.

here's mine.. nothing special, just the basics, as it seems I prefer tracking it more than modding it (laziness). but it's been my track ***** for the last few years.
