Clutch pedal stuck to the floor...how difficult to replace Slave Cylinder?
I went to go start the car the other day, and to my surprise the clutch pedal got stuck to the floor and wouldn't come back up. I checked the slave cylinder reservoir and it was completely empty. I then tried pouring some brake fluid in there, but nothing.
So I obviously had a leak in the slave cylinder somewhere and need to replace it. How difficult of a job is this? Is it better to just take it to a shop?
Also, would it be a good idea to replace the master cylinder at the same time?

you may not have checked your fluid for a very long time and just got so low there is air in the system.....
before you go buying things, try and bleed the slave and save yourself some money

yeah i just had the same problem if you bleed the line it will be ok for a while just as long as you keep an eye on the fluid thats what i did...then i just finally replace the slave cylinder which fixed my problems...
^ good idea but if it does end up being your slave cylinder itself its cake to replace. 1 flare nut and 2 10mm(i believe) bolts.
From what i understand they usually recomend doing the clutch master cylinder with the salve cylinder.

i think they are 12 mm bolts actually, but still very easy to replace. bleeding is the fun part. but i also think you should try bleeding it first, then buy one if it does this again.
I changed on for somebody and i had it done in about 15-20 minutes. its an easy job. Did you look where you have been parking to see if there is a small puddle of brake fluid? if so then you will need to change it. Look at the cyl and see if there is any wet brake fluid on or around it.
I just barely made it home today because of my clutch master cylinder. It just started earlier this week. Now the shifter will not go into gear at all. Looking at the area above the clutch pedal revealed quite a leak from the master cylinder. After reading about 20 threads on the topic, it is HIGHLY recommended to replace BOTH master and slave cylinder.

Takes about 10-15 mins to install the slave cylinder just make sure your master cylinder is in working condition. I ordered both a master and slave but ended up just installing the slave cylinder, everything worked fine though. Keeping the master cylinder as a extra just in case it goes out anytime soon.
