ok so i recently blew out my motor
and got it "rebuilt" by some crappy mechanic

about a week after i heard some rattling
but it only seemed to happen when the car was in motion
when i rev it, it doesnt sound like its from within the motor as it was when it was blown

what is it?

and is it something thats really harmful to the car?

i dont think its from the engine

but my dad says that it sounds like something is loose so air is going through a pipe or something and making the noise

but im wondering if it is anything else

it sounds almost like when you have a piece of paper or something in between a house fan
comming from around the engine bay

 

i'm wondering if it has something to do w/ any damage w/ the transmission?
or just as simple as a loose pipe or something of that nature

ok, so when i have the car in idle, everything sounds normal
the motor doesnt knock or anything
but when i start to drive it at about 3-35 k rpm i can start to hear some rattling that almost sounds like it is[I] knocking
its really evident in the 1st and 2nd gears, and not so much from 3-5

as i said earlier, it sounds similar to when you have something hitting the blades on a house fan?

i hope that makes any sense

and i dont want to take it back to the mechanic yet cause hes such a bitch to deal with, but i will if its that[ harmful to the car

 

i would say it would be a loose piece in your exaust system i had the same problem after blowing a motor check for cracks and holes in your header peace....
