Default Those who've relocated their batteries.....

I'm looking for a means to split the (+)2ga. wire (that comes from the trunk through the firewall) into 2 wires. 1 wire - remains 2ga. and will go to the starter. The 2nd wire is the (6ga?) wire that goes into the fuse box. How did you all do this?

Pics are REALLY helpful if you have them.

Thanks!

I'm not looking to wire up a kill switch which appears to be the bulk of that thread's info.
Just want an OEM setup. No alt. wire running to +. Just basically replacing oem wires with new ones and relocating battery.

So the + runs to fuse and starter. That's how i was looking to run it. Possibly without a distribution block like they have shown.

I'm quite the wiring newb so I need lots of direction with this. I will continue to look and take advice though.

Thanks

Take out the master switch and you have your answer.

The more i read into this the more this sucks lol.
Apparantly most track rules require a kill switch
I will NOT drill holes in my car for a switch

There are plenty other ways around drilling holes. You could have the switch inside, whenever you go race take out your key hole for your trunk and put the rod through there. You are making this easy job alot harder then it really is.

Keyhole was shaved over the winter along with a full respray.
I've decided to just mount it in the OEM location.

Thanks for tryin to help though

Not that you really need it anymore, since you decided to leave it, but a junction box is what I used to split my + cable....

I placed a switch right outside the box, too. Its just a cheap Hella switch, not rated for the track (because I dont race the car - it was installed for a serious parasitic draw that Im too lazy to fix )

Ya, I'm still going to buy a distribution block. I have the wiring for the reloaction and the +connector is clamped on the wire out the package, so i still need to power the fuse box wire.

You have two wires off the + terminal, just cut it off and run the fuse wire into one of the terminal points. The starter, the other wire, heads into the block too.

I mounted the block directly where the battery was, on the firewall
