any special tools needed for si sedan oil change?
I am trying to prepare for my first si oil change and I wondered if anyone can tell me if there are any special requirements?
I know some vehicles can require special tools to remove the filter.

beware, the filter is somewhat hard to get to and usually (for first timers) the oil will spill out all over the side of the engine
but no big deal, hold it upward and ur fine

it fits snuggly on top of the cv boot and on the bottom of the filter so when u take off the filter the oil thats drained on the deflector and down the tube...if ur extra carefull and use some towel to take off the filter and prevent any excess oil from drippin off the filter than it will be clean

Where can I get one of those dealer?

Try my method...2liter bottle. Works perfect.
On the SI, I have a simple method using a 2 Liter bottle (coke, sprite, which ever). Cut off the upper half of the coke bottle, just a little past half way (its used to catch the other excess oil from dripping onto the CV BOOT or where ever), also cut off an indentation (shown on the picture).
Test fit before taking out the Oil filter, If you can place your hand on the oil filter being able to turn it while the oil catcher is in place, then your set but lets say if it is hard trying to turn the filter, then I may suggest you cut more of the Indentation until you can manuver you hands better.
The hardest part is taking out the (OIL CATCHER) once its filled with the OIL ( I usually leave the oil filter inside of it because that too if filled with oil inside. Since I have no pictures of me doing the oil filter change, all I can do is describe it.
Well since us SI owners have to take out the Passenger side front rim to manuver easier this is I assume is where the out right hand will be in place, the left hand is usually where the other access is to take out the oil filter, pass the oil pan and there is a subframe where another access to the oil filter. THIS IS WHERE YOU PUT THE OIL CATCHER in and out to manuver easily. Usually what I do is squeeze gently, the oil catcher to the point where it can fit through. Easy said than done right, well i think practice makes everything much easier.

Do you mean I need to remove the passenger side wheel to get easier access?

thats not necessary. u only need to jack up the car. and put it on jack stands. i went to autozone n bought a strap oil filter wrench combo. it had a big one and a small one. of course the big one wont fit. but u need to use the small one. all i did was reach up near the passenger side right next to the subframe with the wrench, then i squeezed my other arm up thru the middle next to the axle and subframe and i fitted the wrench so that the handle was facing the hood of the car. and i just turned a lil bit to get leverage and i just yanked the filter off. all i did to involve the wheel was just turn it to the left.
nothing special need....
just a 17mm wrench and some strong hands to twisted off the oil filter....
good luck
