Default Code 91 (Fuel Tank Preasure Sensor)

Well im getting code 91 and im looking at my options to fix it....

How does everyone else with this code resolve the issue?

Im running a 97 hatch with y8 and obd2 ecu.

Does anyone know an obd2 ecu that doesnt look for this sensor?

I have already read this link http://technet.ff-squad.com/code91.htm

Convert to OBD1 if possible. If you need to get through emissions or something a cheap way would be to trick the ecu into thinking it was there. An expensive and pain in the *** way would be to find a way to add the sensor or get a tank equipped with one.

I dont think there is a hatch gas tank with that sensor though.

Not looking to swap to obd1 for a while yet either.

turn the key all the way but dont the engine on.. let it sit for 10 secs or so then start it.. itll keep the light from coming on.. its a cheesy fix but it works

That would get annoying IMO. Plus if one time it does pop on your going to have to disconnect the battery cable to reset the light. Go OBD1 and dont look back

Didnt work. Still comes one. I reset it last night, did that fix and as soon as i turned the key forward today it instantly came on.

If i go obd1 i need a obd2a to obd1 jumper harness. an obd1 ecu and dont i need a dizzy too?

Actually all you will need is an obd2-1 ecu jumper and the ecu. No distributor is required OBD0 is the only one that cant be mixed and matched

So i can jumper to obd1, run a z6 ecu and thats it..... Sounds way to easy.

Dont have to change any sensors at all? Can i remove the 2nd o2 sensor and evap purge system as well?

It really sounds to good to be true

No i havent created a voltage devider and split the 5v back down tot 2.5v and feed it to the ecu. But only becasue i know if i do that it will fix it for a while and then when the ecu sees no change in voltage it will throw a code again.

I think im gonna look into going OBDI if its that easy as everyone says it is. I have no emissions testing here so it doesn't affect me.

yeah i thought so too when i converted but then again i was going a swap at the same time. OBD1 simply doesn't look for those sensors (i.e. evap, 2nd 02, purge, crank sensor if you ever to a b series swap). Either source a D16Z6 aka P28 or just get an ecu thats chipped socketed and base mapped with a y8 or z6 map

cheapest and easiest was to read that link, splice in a poetentiometer and call it a day. Hell I did it and managed to pass BAR inspectors here in Cali.
