98 civic door wont open from either side of the car
i have a 2door 98 civic ex with power windows/locks.
i got home from class one night and when i tried to open the door it wouldnt open, i tried opening the window and see if the door would open from the outside but no luck.
i took it to the honda dealership and they said i need a new latch and its gona cost me about $350 to get it fixed. i found a place where i can get a latch for less than $50.
but the problem is i need to figure out how to take the door panel off so i can get to the latch. this is a huge problem since i cant get the door to open from either side.
if anyone knows how i can get it off please help.
ive looked at the civic service/repair manual but that didnt help much with getting the panel off with the door closed

Hey, I feel your pain......I just had the same thing happen on my 98 Civic. I know I need to get the door panel off, just don't know how. My guess is it's either the cable or the door latch.
This one may have need to go to a dealer to figure out. My guess is you will need some type of special tool to open the door from between the window and outside panel. The inside panel is probably just held on by plastic clips that can be "popped" to allow for the removal of the panel.
I'll try to let you know how things go on my end......
