A friend of mine has a ek coupe, b16 swap, turbo, blah blah...... still has 100% stock ignition on car.... however, he keeps burning up ignitors?? i have not had a chance to pull anything apart asside from dizzy, but looking for ideas where to start.

any advice is greatly appreciated guys

Check for possible damage or an open in the ground wire (one of the two blue wires) for the igniter.

 

Dude had the exact same problem with my 98 civic and my 91 accord. Tried oem parts tryed after market. Tryed them all then went to honda the dealer and got a new honda ing coil and ing module and since then the car is runing great.

yea i even replaced the wiring from a dizzy that looked brand new on the inside... i have plenty of parts laying around to mess with, just dont want to damage every dizzy i got... thinking about tryin a brand new dizzy form honda???

anyone else have an opinion?

hi, im just wondering if you guys ever figured out the problem you guys had with the ignitor(ICM) going bad on your friends ek coupe. i have the same problem with my 98 prelude, the ICM and coil keeps going out. thanks.
