I don't know but it sounds like a grounding issue to me.

Look at the wires going to the coil. You might have a frayed wire hitting a ground and blowing it. Try to follow them as far as you can to see if any has any cuts or any way the wire is showing through the insulation.

Coils generally blow because the HIGH voltage that builds up inside the coil has nowhere to go (ground) when the igniter unit triggers the coil to release its voltage. For example, a common way to blow the coil is to unplug a spark plug wire while the engine is running or cranking. This suggests that the spark from the coil is somehow being prevented from being released from the distributor. Bad plug wires might cause this, so resistance test them. Also make sure the plug wires are fully seated on the cap and spark plugs. Finally, is the inner cover of the distributor installed? If not, this can allow coil spark to jump around inside the distributor.

Do you have spark before the coil blows? and if not is the spring in the end of the coil?

You NEED the inner cover. Get one. And code 15 often indicates a bad igniter unit. Have an auto parts store test it. Do you have an aftermarket distributor or OEM one?

Check the Yel/Grn wire that runs between the igniter unit and ECU for a short. This test requires an inexpensive digital multimeter.

Yes. Have a look at the diagram I posted.

And make sure the distributor installed on your engine always has an inner cover. The lack of one likely caused your current problem.

Why would a new distributor lack an inner cover? Or did you just buy the distributor housing? If so, try a local junkyard.
