Default This turbo OK for my goals?

I have a built B18C6 with darton sleeves at 84mm, eagle rods, arias pistons (9:1 compression), 70mm throttle body, v-spec racing inlet manifold, Skunk2 Turbo 2 cams, ported and polished ITR head.

Specs of the turbo:

T3/T04, .50 A/R compressor, .63 A/R exhaust, 56 trim.

Looking for around 350-400whp.

Is that turbo suitable, and what sort of boost will I need to run for my goal?

Great build...but why so much work for such a low hp goal? Id throw a larger turbo on and up my goals with that kind of build. However the answer is yes that turbo will be fine for those specific power goals.

That turbo will be fine, but depending on your fuel grade, you may want to upgrade to something slightly larger. I dont know for sure if you'll be able to hit 400whp on a 50 trim on pump gas. A 57 trim or even the STC Silver Surfer will make that power on pump no problem.

Thanks for the replies. I'm aware my engine is kind of over-built for my needs, but it's a long story, it sort of all fell together.....

I'll post a project thread soon with all the details

Back to the turbo, what kind of boost will I need to run to get near my goal? It'll be on pump fuel, 98ron here in the UK.

Nobody can tell you exactly how much boost you will need to run for sure. Just throw it on the dyno and tune for your goals.

Yeah it'll be going on the dyno for tuning of course, I was just wondering what kind of ballpark boost figure it'll take to hit my goals, just out of interest

You don't really list eh most important spec of that turbo, the compressor trim. A 46 trim would start wheezing at 350whp, while a 60trim could take you to 450whp and change.

A 57trim can do 350whp on a D16 w/cam & intake w/o even maxing the turbo out (18psi), so a B18 with almost any Garrett t3/t04 should get you to your goal. A t04b s-trim may be pushing it though, but everything else If its a 57trim, I'd suggest ~21psi at most for pump gas. Your 98 is close to our 91/93 IIRC.

Compressor wheel specs:

56mm (2.20") Inducer, 82mm (3.22) Exducer

That would make it a 46 trim right?

Looks like I might have to revise my goals then, I've already bought the turbo as it was cheap (not generic ebay crap, it's a Genuine Garrett).
