Push button start and i blew somthin up
I bought 91 hatch it used have push button start. Their is no ignition in the car all the wires that went to the ignition switch are cut. So i followed these written instruction that the previous owner had made to hook the push button start back up. i used white/black for power. I wired 4 individual wires to that one power wire. i took 4 switches and wired up Acc, Acc2, igniton, Starter. now thiers a white/red wire left and a solid white wire. The solid white wire hit some metal and when it did tht everything shut off i have nothing. no blown fuses anywere. i tried re-wiring everything. I pulled the Ecu out and put it in my other hatch and it worked fine so the Ecu isnt fried. the car is a dx with si interior+harnesses+ECU. yes my other hatch is a real SI so the Ecu's are the exact same. anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Theres a box on the back of the fuse box under the dash could that be fried? Any suggestions?
thiers no blown fuses anywere. it seems i have zero power going to all the igniton wires. so i wonder if i have power running to the rest of the fuse box.
take your battery and have it tested. (i know this isn't exactly the same, but) i accidentally shorted a live wire on my bike and it toasted the battery. it
i actually had it running off the battery in my grandmas alero and the alero starts up fine lol. there is no motor or tranny on this car im trying to get it wired so i can make sure all the lights and stuff work before i put a motor in it. Another question. The fuse box under the hood if your standing on the passengers side looking down on the fuse box, all the way on the right side in the lower right hand corner thier is 2 slots with 2 phillips screws. The outer slot is for the + side on the battery and the inner one is for? what wires runn to the inner one have any idea??

you blew a fuse man. i install remote starts every day and this happens when your 12 volt ignition wire grounds out. get a probe and tap each end of every fuse under the dash and hood. it wouldnt be a relay. just a fuse. thats what fuses are made for.
have you checked the fuses under the hood with a meter? the screw-in fuses? they may look ok when the element is broke, and the smaller fuses under hood are on different circuits, so they will be fine
just because a fuse does not look popped, does not mean it is still good. You might not have full current running through, and it might be causing issues.
Its supposed to rain all day today but as soon as the rain breaks im going to check this stuff. thanks for your help guys ill post back.
