uh oh throttle sticking
I have a sporadic problem with the throttle sticking open. Doesn't seem to happen when it is cold or even warm but when I run at high rev's for a while it doesn't want to let go. I can usually drop the revs by shifting but sometimes the revs climb again while the clutch is pressed. It is an aftermarket throttle body. It was doing it really bad at first and I had them replace the butterfly and I thought it was fixed but at the end of a 40 mile drive yesterday it started doing it again. Could it be the throttle cable?
I can't confidently say it wasn't doing it before the TB because I bought the car with a blown head gasket and obviously didn't run it hard until that was fixed at which point the TB went on.

check your floor mat. probbably not the case but it happened to me a couple times when i first bought my car. didnt know what the hell was going on. laughed at myself though when i figured it out.
Stupid q, what kind of grease should I use?
I just cleaned it out with Seafoam Deep Creep this morning.
Definetly not the floormat, and its a Gude not a Skunk2.

well the seafoam didn't work, had it sticking again today. what kind of grease should i use on the spring?
it happened really close to home so i pulled into my garage, popped the hood and just wiggled the throttle by the spring which felt really rough and then it went back to normal
