Default wierd overheating prob on 96 accord

i ran into this problem tonight...i was driving down the road and i came to stop and the car started spitting antifreeze....it was steaming out from under the hood, while it was steaming and dropping fluid onto the ground it was making a hissing noise....i made it to a place to let it cool down and add water.....after adding water i headed home..it didnt start steaming and hissing on the way home after i had added water...is there a pressure relif valve that may have just opened do to low collant levels?

yeah let it blow off its load in the morning. its easier to find out the problem if you know where its leaking, or at least i think it will help others help you.
