Head ticking (searched)
so i just had my head rebuilt everything was done performance cams i put the head by the way before the head was taken off my head ticked had it rebuilt and it still ticks im thinking its the distributor my honda sevice manual says if i use a timing light and my timings off i have to replace my ECU and theres no way to adjust the distributor but im not about to go buy a 400 dollar ecu, what should i do ?
Use punctuation so I don't get a headache while trying to read your posts...
But seriously, I'd double check your valve lash clearances because that is normally what causes a noisy head. If you are OBD2, the timing is electronically adjusted by the ECU and cannot be manually adjusted without going back to OBD1. What year is you car?

my valves were adjusted before i started it, could they be off again ? and if its not that could it be my Igintion control module, or something in the distibutor ? by the way my car is a 1999 Honda Prelude SH
even with a proper valve adjustment they are still noisey. h22's are by no means quiet running engines. right now mine is pretty noisey as well and i know it is in need of a valve adjustment. My last lude however was still noisey even after a valve adjustment. just a tad quieter but still loud.

You guys ever hear a VW valve train? Now thats noisy!
Buy a 10 doller stethoscope and find where the noise is coming from.
As most of them said though its likely your valve lash needs adjusting.
DIY valve lash is in honda-tech's archive, go check it out if you got the time.
OR, honda has a flat rate 1 hour labour if your too chicken (don't have the tools)
...I chickened out once, BUT on the plus side when I grew some bolas and did it myself, IT WAS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more quieter (not a real word is it) than when Honda did it. So in the end, DIY the first time and every time!
