On my way to school today something freaky started to happen. My radio just starts shutting off and turning back on over and over, also my rpm gauge stoped working and my speedometor bounce from 0 to whatever speed i am going. The weird thing is when i shut off my headlights everything is fine. I just installed aftermarket fogs f.y.i. I didnt know if that could be the problem or not, has this happend to anyone else?

 

check the connection to the alternator. same thing happened to me while driving on the nj turnpike. i immediately pulled over and the car died. just so happened that the connection for the alternator power cable was breaking off.

The only two things that the devices have in common would be the power feeds, right? Check to make sure your ground wires are making a sufficient connection to your chassis. The only other possibilities would be either a failing alternator, or a corroded wire which is creating serious resistance.

 

hpi was right, my alternator wire was loose. Thanks for the quick fix.
