Has anyone tried this with a d15b?!?!?
WHICH d15b?
there are at least 3 of them.
if you're talking the standard 130hp VTEC version then it will run a little rich (1.6L ECU on 1.5L engine) and the ignition maps will be slightly off. But it will run ok.
If you have the VTEC-E or the non-VTEC version then it will run like crap at best.
(there's also a two VTEC solenoid version that came later)

lol yea im planning on dropping in a JDM d15b. I have a d16z6 now...so my computer is mapped out to run that. Old engine so i wanna replace. What can i expect tho if i do DO the swap. Like starting, running, idling. Will it have any effects becuz of the computer im using(p28)?

Not completely true. Am running a p28 on a non-vtec d15b and my car runs fine. Idles at about 800 rpm and redlines at 8,000 rpm I don't make power after 7,500 roughly maybe a little sooner but I can and have taken it to 8k many times just for fun. Does run a little rich though. Am about to swap a v tec head on it so we will see how that goes.

The effects of the p28 wont be great enough to hinder starting, idleing and such. You probably just wont get as good mpg as you would chipping it, and it will be a hair off in performance compared to chipping your ecu.
I had an EG with a JDM D15b vtec and a p28 not chipped.
It ran fine, like everybody has said, it was rich. It started and ran really good actually. Why not just keep the z6 though? mileage?

I don't blame you for not Believing, I probably wouldn't believe it either if I wasn't the one doing it myself. People get shocked when I show them. At first I thought my tach was just wrong but I installed an auto meter tach also just to see if my stock tach was wrong but they both hit 8k. Been running fine for about 7 months now.

I just did this swap. I have a d15b with a z6 head. I used the p28 5spd ecu. To be perfectly honest, this combo lacked alot of midrange power. It had power from idle to 2.5k then had power a 6k till redline. It ran just fine, but the mileage was terrible. It must have been getting like 20-25 mpg. The solution to my problem was getting my ecu tuned on crome. It runs great and i get great milage now.
