ECU resetting
Reset the biatch. Its real easy. Pull off negative termal, pull ECU fuse, pull Hazard fuse for 10 minutes. Apply brakes a couple of time to get all the left over electrons out. Put everthing back after 10 minutes and let the car idle for 10 minutes.
Will that make any difference though? When I put all of the aftermarkets on I was very disapointed in the lack of performance gain noticeability! Will that change anything?
You have an Accord. Putting all these bolt-ons isn't going to be a HUGE gain. It's a heavy car. I don't even think I noticed my intake on my Civic and it gave my about 7hp at the flywheel on the dyno. My friend had a lot done to his old Accord and it wasn't that much faster than his brothers stock one of the same year. However, you go dyno that car, and I'm sure you will notice the gains. Either way, reset your ECU. It should help out a little.

A dyno does not measure flywheel horsepower.

The reason you want to reset the ECU is to allow the computer to "start fresh" with its new state of tuning. This way you can take advantage of all the power you gained by having a more even fuel mixture and a smoother power curve. These things seem trivial, but you will appreciate them.
i think you need to warm up the car to normal operating temps before taking off the negative on the battery or taking out the ecu/efi fuse.
does anyone have EXACT CORRECT directions? i dont these halfassed directions

At least on 6th gens. all you have to do is pull the fuse labeled clock, backup. it's number 13 on the passenger side, and leave it out for about 10 seconds. that is from the Helms manual, so I'm sure it's right. teh ECU pulls a small ammount of current from the battery to hold memory. don't know about the 5th gens but I imagine it is a similar procedure

but then again it depends on what kinda dyno. if he reset the ecu and pulled the motor out to dyno the sucka man you got probs.
Not sure on the proper procedue to reset ECU. But pulling more fuses than less islikely to work.
Don't forget this... its the most important part.

Dont know what its worth but my borther (97 prelude) was going to reset his ecu before dynoing (hadnt done it since ANY of his mods) and forgot.
On the fourth or fifth pull he remembered. We kept everything the same pulled the negate off the battery for >5min. Dynoed again.
NO CHANGE. I was surprised after all I had heard.

I don't think 5 minutes is enough. Most people tell me that 30 minutes is the minimum.
This is like some sort of Honda Myth. Everyone talks about it but no one knows for sure. I'm gonna check with my Honda buddy.

Its not time dependant. Its either all or nothing. Pulling the battery leaves the ecu with nothing. Its not like a PC or like a vafc that has a internal battery or eproms repectively. One minute would do it.
The resetting does nothing.

when you dyno its at WOT which is open loop mode so there's really no way that the ecu would "learn" anything...
does it learn at part throttle? yes...but does resetting the ecu help? who knows
