Default new s2k

just got my car. 05 s2k. has about 16k miles on it.

I havent driven a stick in a while and i am noticing some grinding in 2nd, 3rd and 5th gears. doesnt do it all the time and the dealership wont do warranty work on it on the tranny until they hear or feel the sound themselves... usually grinds when the car is still cold. like in the mornings...

anyone have this problem? or perhaps i am not pressing the clutch all the way down. thanks. i hear this is pretty common and a fluid change will do the trick. i dunno...

I sometimes get a minor grind when hard changing into 2nd - the harder i bang it in gear, the better it is. Only now and again though - yours sounds like a fluid change is in order..

notchy yes but even when the clutch is all the way down you feel this sharp rumble sometimes...may be its just me. the guy at the dealership said honda came out with a new formula because this was a common problem in the s2k. thanks for the fast replies

fluid change already? only 16k miles on it. think may be because the car may have been sitting around for a long time? three years and only 16k. i think the manual says every 30k or so. im not sure.

hmmm, it is a little soon for fluid change. Can you have a go in someone else's S2000 to compare? This car is well known for having a really nice gearbox, so you def should get it checked out before any damage occurs..

whats the history of the car? find out what work was done and see if anything looks tranny related.

history is clean. had carfax before it was purchased. a walk around the car shows all the panels are honda oem. no accidents. no services relating to tranny. it hasnt been doing it lately. may be it was my driving.... thanks for the replies

whatever you do don't ever tell anybody at the dealership that you haven't driven stick for awhile. they gonna use that against you and say you [freak]ed it up.
