5th gear griding problem
Ok some before info: When my clutch was changed the mechanic warned me that my clutch cylinder was on its way out. Me being a dumbass didnt pay it not mind.
I don't know if that would have anything to do with the problem but here goes. Last nite on new years eve i was driving when I realized all my gears felt kinda rough going into them. Then i heard it, when shifting into 5th gear the infamous grinding sound. It doesn't pop outta 5th it just grinds when I shift into 5th at around 3k or above. It then dawned on me today what the mechanic said. Other ppl are telling me it could be bad synchros and some are telling me I might need to change my tranny fluid or i might not have any in there at all. I just want the opinion of honda tech before i take it to the mechanic tomorrow.
Thanks in advance
(1995 jdm h22a and tranny if that matters any)

Yea try switching to synchromesh fluid but this is only a quick fix.

There's your answer.
There's your answer.
I have though of that already but then why would only 5th gear be grinding. If it is the clutch cylinder and i get it fixed, would i have done ne damage by grinding 5th gear a couple of times?
If you haven't got it fixed yet, your problem is common to all 92-96 preludes. It is the 5th gear synchro. I have a 94 vtec and had a new 5th gear, synchro, and fork installed. It is a simple fix, but it will cost about 300 in parts and labor because of the time it takes to pull the tranny.
