Default 2007 Civic Ex, hard to start sometimes

Hello I am new here, but not new to forums and the automotive world.

Our 07 Civic Ex (auto trans) is hard to start every so often.

We have owned it for almost 1 year and I would say that at least 3 times a month (any condition weather) it will crank and not turn over unitl the third attempt.

I t almost acts like a car that is either flooded or starved.

Other manufacturers I have experinced issues with the spark plug or mainly one of the individual spark plug coils.

Anyone experince this also?

I have been to the dealer twice already, they say there are no codes found and they cannot replicate the issue.

Thanks

Welcome to my world. Although ours cranks, kind-of starts, sputters for about 5-10 seconds, then decides to run.

Same thing with the dealer too. It did it to them, but since they can't consistently produce the problem, tough luck on me.

I get the same thing before I did anything to the car. Every once in awhile it just sound like it's about to die on the first crank. Then second attemp runs fine. Just had a bad winter with loads of snow, surprisingly I didn't encounter any of the start problems I had the year before. So I don't know, might just be "s--- happens" lol.

My brother's civic has a similar problem. My friend suggested putting the key in, turning it to the on but not cranking it. Leave it there for 3-4 seconds, then start the car. Following this procedure, the problem never occurred again. Give it a try...
