i was just reading this on the ocho. looks like they are using a universal apex-i filter, cause it isnt oiled. compared with our injen that is, something about the maf sensor. my injen is good to go though!
why do you need to buy a new filter anyway? i believe our filters just need to be washed and re-oiled like a k&n. am i wrong? but, if you must. i would go with the apex-i just to do something different.
you could be right... i dont know how to wash and oil the filter and i dont want to take chances. i want to go apex i just want to make sure its not gonna [freak] up my engine.
if any tells me how to oil and wash and intake ill give it a try

i know k&n and aem make a cleaning kit, you wash with the cleaning fluid and water. let dry and then re-oil using the supplied filter element oil. ive used the aem stuff oce to clean my wifes filter on her brute force.(aem truck) but, the apex-i filter wont [freak] up your motor.

i'd check with jscspeed.com, even if you have to email them. they are very quick to respond. the thing lists for $70 on the apexi price list, so the prices you are seeing are extremely high for JUST the filter; you may be looking at the power intakes that include the adapters too...
maybe i missed it, but make sure you measure or know for sure what the ID is of your existing filter.
the apexi filter is a nice piece. i also like the blitz sus filter, but i've yet to actually use one despite coming close several times through the years.

okay so here is the site that says it only works for apexi intakes only. i know alot of companies say this so that consumers end up buying their products instead. and theoredically speaking the filter should fit because its the same size as the INJEN (80mm) but i still want to hear some final thoughts before i order tomorrow so heres the link...

I'm using a BPi flowstack on the stock intake arm (MAF housing cut out of airbox)
I'm not sure how it would fit with a CAI, but you might want to take a look. BPi - FlowStack
