Default Another no-name Header..

came with the motor and has the JASMA "Carb" approval on it.

Will a exhaust shop be able to work with it since I don't have the 2-1 connecting piece?

Looks like a megan, but its probally, DC sport or some other cheap crap.

Suggestion, paint it with high heat paint. Reason, Ive had mine on since last fall, and its already showing signs of rust.

since it has the jasma placard it's from japan not a megan, dc, or typical ebay-peddled piece.

High heat paint from the store won't do CRAP. You will have to have it coated with a high-temp coating for it to actually do anything.

i got this header as well when i first received my JDM swap from hmotors. it looked like a pretty nice piece that i would have put on par with mugen or fujitsubo. Too bad it didnt come with the lower piece.

Def. not a DC, megan, or ebay crap. Don't japs brand their products!? It would help a helluvalot in finding the missing 2-1 part or I'm guessing here that a shop will be able to put something together?

I've seen plenty of others getting these non-branded headers with their jdm motors, with the same JASMA cert..

I guess it depends on which paint you're talking about, but everything I've seen just starts rusting after a few weeks.

Those exhaust coatings that street_accord94 mentioned are what I was referring to. At the kit car place I used to work at we got the Cobra side pipes powder coated with ceramic heat-resistant stuff and that was just the exhaust, not even the headers.

Also, every turbo diesel up at work that I have seen (1000's probably) that has has paint on the turbo and exhaust has just had the paint burnt completely off no problem. We always cover the hot side of the turbos when we paint the engine so the paint won't burn off and create smoke.

Allssooo I painted a brand new catalytic converter for our CRV with high temp header/exhaust paint and it didn't last a week before the paint was gone around all the joints and there was rust-a-plenty

You might be able to get something custom fabbed, but I don't know that a local exhaust shop would be able to handle it well. To do it right, you'd probably want a 2-1 merge collector (like from Burns Stainless), pipe with mandrel bends and then you'd have to get someone to punch a custom flange to bolt up to the primaries. The cheaper option would be to check what your clearances/heights are and see if the lower section from something like a DC or Megan will fit, assuming the flanges match up.

That sounds just about right. Do you think it'll be worth all that work to stick with this header? I found what looks to be a part number..

FGK 11846

Seems like it is a Fujitsubo as pictured above. I was not able to find any parts with that number..so I am going to assume that it is the Fujitsubo Super-EX Header.

This was a good post:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by UK_Luder &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Fujitsubo is one Japan's highest quaity exhaust manufacturers, and the Super-EX they do for the Prelude is one of the best production headers you can get, with an almost identical design to the Mugen exhaust manifold.

They are nowhere near the same as the DC Sports header . They are a completely different design, have much bigger diameter primary & secondary pipwork, and a 60mm diam. (2.25") collector as standard.

They're very popular here in the UK, as we get them imported in direct from Japan.</TD></TR></TABLE>

The piping and welds look pretty nice, so spending $200 or so to finish it out could be worth your while if you're looking for a good header. You could try contacting an american distributor of Fuji and see if they can order just a bottom section...
