you're not going to be able to rebuild and boost your motor for $2000. you can try but you're gonna end up blowing your motor. do a b series swap. you can get everything for under $2000 and it will give you a good hp gain and it will be reliable.

wut do u think if money isn't an issue. Do u think i should keep my motor cause its there, or should i do a crazy swap. I'd kinda want to pull up to the strip and smoke some one with my little D16A6!!!!! And then they would ask me wut I have and i'd say a little 1.6 SOHC. I don't know it kinda sound weird but I dont want to do V-TEC because my buddy did a swap in to his CRX and he said its A pain wiring vtec to his car but I don't know.I would really appreciate some ones advice.

I would have to agree with EFRue. As much fun as it would be to beat someone with the mighty D, its not getting the most for your dollars! Do the B swap. The wiring is a breeze. Just get a jumper harness from Rywire if you are not that comfortable with wiring diagrams.

by the way for future posts, pick a better title, like "which setup should I run in my ___?" you'll get more replies, and after all it is honda-tech help is why we are here

jackson racing supercharger is some of the best bang for buck imo. but i would make sure your a6 is strong if your thinking of doing it.

i'd have to disagree. you spend $2000 on a supercharger and gain 50-60 hp. and then you have to factor in that the motor probably has some miles on it being an 18 year old car, which means reliability is an issue, you have to factor in tuning, which on an obd0 car is not a very easy thing to do well, so then you might have to factor in converting to obd1, then also any extras you might run in to.

I have a d15b7 block with a d16y8 head. I had the crank Edged, balanced and blueprinted. Crower rods and stock pistons. New main bearings and rod bearings complete bottom end gasket get. The head was milled and I got a complete Gude Performance Head Package which includes.
Ported and Polished Cylinder Head
High Compression Radius Cylinder
Racing Valve Grind
Ported Intake Manifold
Ported Throttle Body
Camshaft(s)
ECU
I also use a Skunk 2 intake manifold that was matched ported to the head. I'm getting 165 to the wheels and this set up cost me about $2000.00. I Know all the Bseries guys are going to talk down to me but I went with this set up because its super reliable and I drive my car everyday, and this set up with an SI tranny revs rpms quick and its pretty fast this same set up on a dohc would cost you double and I have no trouble at all killing 1.8 vtec's with bolt ons.

Its not like your going to be able to afford a crazy swap with 2k.
