Congrats. You've chosen a motor. Unfortunately, you don't know anything about it. Like G.I. Joe says .... "Knowing is half the battle!"

The swap should be rather straight forward, if you know what you're doing. If not, then I suggest reading up on some how-to threads such as this one:

Did you pay to much probably...however is the B16b a great motor ABSOLUTELY, i have a b16b and a b18c5 love them both, but let me tell you the 16b rips when you hit vtec much more than most think...as most dont have one or have not driven one.

on hmotors, the b16b is cheaper than a jdm c5 swap. but either way, both motors are very strong from the factory, and both have loads of potential. have fun!

thanks for clarifying, its just that a lot of peeps have a negative attitude towards b16b for no reason. thank you for knowing the truth in it being a badass motor.

Make sure you extend the vtec pressure sensor wire(blue/blk) and have the red and yellow wire in the IAT sensor. The tech plug is your best friend when researching CELs always refer to the CEL thread on the top of the Honda Civic/Del Sol (1992 - 2000) thread list. I have all the pinout diagrams if you need them, just pm' me.

I was thinkin about pickin up a b16sir2 for 2200 full swap shipped and installed .... being as someone stated they payed 2500 i asume thats not a bad price ... or and i rong how much should i be paying for the swap ?

and b16 are not bad swapps i watch them keep up with lsvtecs and grs's all the time not saying there going 2 beat them but with the price u pay for a b18c liek the guy below selling his for 4k .. i can have my b16 turbo and still have a lil money extra that will beat lsV and b18

b16+turbo is an awesome idea, im the guy who said he paid 2500 but that was for a b16b, still a b16 swap installed for 2200 is really cheap.

i got a b16b on a em1 and that **** pulls but then again i have neva experienced the power of a b18c which should pull harder than the b16 bigger engine displacement but the ctr is a good daily driver just my .02 cents

right, cause size is the only factor? did you forget that a b16b has bigger cams, higher flowing head, shorter gears, higher compression, bigger intake mani etc... than a gsr?

A B18C is any JDM B18Cx .... it could be an Integra Si-VTEC, SiR-G, Type R, etc. It could also be a Civic Aerodeck 1.8 VTi, or any other JDM vehicle that came with a B18C. There are even automatic B18C's.

yea i know that...but the motors being discussed in the thread were the CTR and ITR....thats why i said that...i dont remember anyone talking about the GSR....

read my previous post....thats the reason why i said that....i dont remember anyone talkin about the GSR so i dont even know why you started comparing the CTR to the GSR...

it would help to be more specific next time, as you know a b18c could be a lot of things. and i compared it to a gsr because someone said B18c which is the us spec gsr. is that so hard for you to understand? when most people are referring to the jdm itr they say b18c-r or b18c spec r to avoid confusion, you might want to make a note of that.

actually the USDM spec GSR would be the B18c1 which i usually see people referring it to the C1 , B18c1, or just GSR....

like said earlier, the motors discussed were the CTR and ITR

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by blinx9900 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> as you know a b18c could be a lot of things.</TD></TR></TABLE>

i know that and still doesnt give you the evidence that the dude was talking about a GSR so i dont know why you even mentioned it...you might want to take a note of that quote of yours above...i aint trynna burst your bubble, is just that i see SO MANY threads go completly off topic for so many pages...and i just didnt want this to turn that way either...i just didnt want to hear people debating between GSRs and CTRs for 10 pages after the OP got his answer which really should have been a locked thread because this preference threads are really pointless.
