I got a 2000 Civic DX .. and i cant get the rear hatch open with the key.You can lock it and unlock it with the key but it wont pull open. I am pretty sure you cant open it from the inside.. only the 96-98 you can open from the inside? any secrets on how to get it open? i have tried about everything! thanks

 

try the pop trunk lever thats the only way my hatch opens now, somthings wrong with the locking mechanisim idk if that helps any gl getting it opened

 

pop trunk lever - I dont think my hatch has one of those.. has one for the gas tank but not the hatch

 

hmmm well that sucks i screwed with mine for a long while and didnt get it to do anything so i just said the hell with it and just use the pop trunk to open it now

i guess if you need to use your hatch put stuff in it from the front...
you could pull out the lock and just use the lever/arm to open it but its easier for thieves to break into and possibly steal it.

 

i just want to get it open cause there is a damn ugly *** mid - wing on it that i need to unscrew from the inside and its impossible with the hatch closed.. how would i go about takin the lock thingy off?
