aftermarket fan not working.

aftermarket fan not working.
My buddy put a aftermarket slim fan in a hf crx with a sohc zc swap. He wired the old plug from the oem fan to the slim one and the fan will not kick on. We check power to the plug and everything is fine. We plugged in the oem fan still nothing. What could be the problem? Also the car can sit a idle for 30 minutes and show no signs of overheating. TIA.

It could be a relay OR most likely you still aren't getting warm enough for the fan to kick in. Go outside and beat it up, bet you it'll kick in then
