Default Overheating problem. 93 civic dx

Aight so I had a coolant leak... did the presure check found the hose that was leaking... Changed out some others. Cars running fine.

Now its over heating again. But its fine at ide... but when I rev it or hit the gas the coolant gets hot and just spews back into the overflow tank. So I swapped out the rad cap. Still does it.

Only thing I can think of is the thermostat sticking shut... Any other ideas? Am I on the right track?

Really got to get this car running again. Its the wifes.. Need it to last a bit longer.

yea the thermostat is a cheap fix, and is a likely cause of a overheating issue. How many miles does the car have on it?

could be your thermostat, which is a easy fix and should be changed out.
but i'm going to take a guess and say, MMM...maybe forgot to bleed the system?
if you did forget, then yes it will cause the car to overheat, especially the way you are describing it.

Definitely first replace the thermostat. Also check that the radiator fan runs when the engine gets hot. Does turning the heat and blower full blast lower the engine temperature?

If replacing the thermostat doesn't help (hopefully it does), then you might have a bad water pump or head gasket/head.

If all else fails there is a good possibility that you could have popped your head gasket
