Default Opinions on Torco motor oil

i hate to bring up another "which oil is better" type thread but after running Castol GTX in previous hondas ive owned, i switched to Royal Purple and i was happy with that until they went commercial and is no longer the same quality product. Now i am running Torco full synthetic SR-1 and would like to know other peoples opinions on it and how does it compare to other synthetic motor oils? TIA

I currently am running on Torco synthetic. Unfortunately, I'm still on my first oil change of my ownership of the R, so I have no basis of comparison. The **** sure is expensive though ($12 a quart!).

I do burn oil, that's for sure. I did a hard 500 mile drive, and then tuned the next day, and had to add over a quart of oil before tuning and another half after. THis also says something about the state of my engine.

I don't think I'll be going back to it. For the price and the rate that it burns up I think I'll try Castrol or Amsoil synthetic instead.

no experience with torco, but i've used amsoil, redline, mobil 1, royal purple, motul, shell and eneos. my conclusion: i buy eneos by the gallon now.

scientifically no. but after running all the various ones at the track i've settled on the eneos 0w50 for the summer and 5w30 for the winter. i change my oil probably every 6 weeks so i have had the ability to go back and forth and the car just seems to "feel" better. i hate using that logic but that is all i have right now.
