do i need to take out my shocks if i get coilovers need help before i buy
i got spirings and blue tokico gas shocks im about to buy some coilover sheeves do i need to take out my shocks????
Yes, the coilover sleeves go in between the shock and the frame, so you will have to remove everything. Are these ebay special coilovers by any chance?
What kind of springs are you using? Lowering a car on Tokico Blues is a bad idea because they will most likely 'blow' or start to leak oil pretty quick.

Quality springs with tokico shocks would probbly stll be better then what your planning to do. Grant it yes the car will be lower with coilovers, but cheapy coilovers wont keep you satisfied for ride quality.
Coilovers come with a cylindrical shape sleeve that slides over the the strut(aka why you would need to take the struts off the car)then typically come with springs designed for the sleeve. Most ebay springs are horrible. The sleeves have 2 sliding perches that are adjustable to move up and down on the sleeves, which lowers and raises the spring that will sit on them. I probbly went into more detail then needed but, you seem fairly new to the whole coilover setups so figured id add alittle more info.

Why does everyone say this? I have had mine for close to two years now with no problem, and my car is on the ground. I think that the combination of sportlines and blues is not quite stiff enough in the front but other than that the shocks themselves are fine and have given me no problems. I have put close to 15k on them like this btw.

I just say it from my own personal experience. I replaced my OEM shocks with Tokico blues a while back when the OEMs went bad. The car was lowered 1-2" on Eibach springs and those Tokicos started leaking after a month or so....maybe my car was too low but I sure didn't think it was

I'm planing on lowering my prelude soon (4th gen) and was wondering what kind of set up to get. Are the Tokico blues the regular non-adjustable shocks? and how low exactly is your car? 1.5", 2"?
