obx lsd for K-series "hole problem"
OK.... after taking the lsd apart and inspecting it

I've realize that it has a hole after removing the screw

So now i have an extra washer, a pin, and a screw with now thread

I woner if i can weld it shut, being that the other screws are holding the cover down or just leave it like that?

it only needs 6 washers but the pin i guess is suppose to cover the missing bolt, cause there is suppose to be 10 screws and i only have 9 and out of the 9 their is only 8 that can thread.
take it apart and put it back together right!! That pin is a locating dowel you have the cover on wrong. Put the pin in the hole with no thread and then locate the cover correctly. oh and that washer you have left over is a compression washer you are gonna have one hell of a noisy LSD if you dont put it back together right! Read the article on field stripping and lsd and do it like that! https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1752849
Good Luck!
Good Luck!
thanks......but where does the compression washer goes i read it like 3 time...all i see is this pattern )()()( where does the extra one go?

You doofus. The LSD is a high-speed rotating object, ergo, it has to be balanced. You have to assemble it correctly and you certainly don't want to add mass anywhere by welding anything.
I can't believe you botched something so simple. Obviously, all the countersunk holes are where the screws go. The hole that isn't countersunk is where the alignment dowel goes. It's like you finished the entire puzzle and can't figure out where the last piece goes!
Also, most LSDs have an even number of washers (6 or 8). I'm not sure how the k-series comes, but I find it unlikely that it would have 7. The OBX LSD write-up is based entirely on a D-series LSD which has only 6 washers. Not to insult your intelligence, but is it possible that you only installed 5?

Completely strip you LSD back down and check everything you have. Then follow this article word for word in putting it back together. It is for an RSX LSD. Cause if you just throw that LSD back together and put it in you are gonna destroy your tranny!! What ever came out the LSD must go back in.

Ok... so i read it and it still doesnt talk about the extra beville washer i have personally obx just put a extra washer as a gift
Yes i have it in this pattern....)()()( i was scared that i need 8 but everybody is using 6 washers so that mean obx luvs me and gave me 1 more.
as long as the washers compressed and yo used the right pattern then you should be fine. they are there for noise control. just make sure you put the dowel pin and extra bolt back where they go.
