Put a blastic bag on your intake filter, An another over your distrubutor.
Allow A few mintues for your headers to cool off.
Stay clear from wiring as much as possible.
Easy on The valve cover. Simple Green + Elbow Grease on The Valve Cover!

You don't need to take it easy on the valve cover -- you can easily blast away.. Like it's been said before: cover up the distributor cap, turbo air inlet port, air intake (if aftermarket), and try to avoid electrical areas.. You could run the car while you do it too if you want so you don't worry about it not starting.
