All 4 cylinders Misfire. New timing belt.
Good Morning, I recently had the timing belt replaced in my 99 Honda Civc Si. I had to get it replaced because I blew the belt starting my car. The mechanics told me I didn't do any damage to the motor, They replaced the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, motor mount, tranny mount, O2 sensor and some some other belts. I drove it for a day and the timing belt was humming. (I was informed that is normal for a new belt). Then a day after I picked up my car (after being at the shop for 3 days) the check engine light was flashing. I had a friend of mine check the OBD codes and now all 4 cylinders are misfiring... Does this have to do with the timing belt? Or is the motor smoked due to me blowing the timing belt? Is it fixable and will it be expensive. I already paid the garage $1300 for all the other work, that I feel wasn't done correctly. Please advise?
first... do your own work
if you don't know how learn
that would have saved you an *** load off that shop bill
as for your problem
start with a leakdown test/ compression test to check the motor
(yes you can do this yourself)
is the timing off?
check the cams to make sure they are right and you didn't jump a tooth
check the dizzy to make sure it's tight
