Need Help With Engine Wiring
I have a 2000 Gsr motor and tranny that was converted to OBD 1 on my last car and i still have the original OBD 1 engine harness and OBD 1 Ecu. My new car is a 98 Civic Ex (which i sold the original wire harness). Is there anyway i can use OBD 1 engine harness and OBD1 Ecu from my old car in my new car. The state i live in does not have emissions by the way. I appreciate any help.
I ask because the 98 Civic Ex engine harness that i sold had 4 plugs for the Ecu and an extra plug that looks as if it went to the interior harness. My OBD 1 engine harness only has 3 plugs for the Ecu.

You can buy a jumper harness OBDI to OBDII
oh wait your motor is OBDII and your ecu is OBDI in that case idk
not sure if the jumper works that way there may be one out there im not sure tho

The motor, harness, and Ecu are all OBD 1 / the car is OBD 2 and i sold the original engine harness in the car. Im trying to avoid buying another OBD 2 Vtec harness. I dont mind buying a conversion harness if it will work cause they are pretty cheap.

if you use the OBDII ecu with the jumper its just plug and play as far as i kno
but an OBDI ecu in an OBDII car i have no idea how that would work
maybe some of the other guys will chime in and help you out

The answer is:

The 96-00 Civic uses an engine harness that goes from the engine all the way through the firewall and directly into the ECU.
The 94-01 Integra uses and engine harness that stops at the shock towers on both sides of the engine bay.
When doing a B swap into this 1998 Civic you must use the stock Civic harness and modify it to work with the GS-R engine. You'll be adding secondary butterfly wiring if you run the stock GS-R intake manifold, and there will be some other fun issues like some wires that need to be lengthened i'm sure, but this is how it has to be done in these cars.
