Default Best way to tap into my valve cover for oil catch.

I need to put 90 degree fittings into my valve cover and dont want to weld becouse it was just freshly powdercoated. I was thinking eather prilling a hole and tapping it adn using a hole bunch of teflon tap. eather that or drill a gold just a little bigger than the treds so i can put it in with a rubber washer on each side adn then hold it there with a thin nut on the other side...what do you think i should do? is there an easyer way? lmk

use bulkhead fittings... they make them in 90 degree versions too.

drilling and tapping the hole NPT isnt the best idea since the valve cover is pretty thin (about 1/8" thick)

I would also suggest using a bulkhead fitting or possibly 90 deg o-ring boss and use a bulkhead nut to secure it so the o-ring would help from oil/ vapors leaking past the fitting.

this

and this

since the valvecover is so thin there shouldnt be a problem threading the bulkhead nut onto the ORB fitting.

yeah you will need a very good seal in order to prevent the blow by from causing a leak. Is this for an N/A application or a forced induction?

Probably not enough material there to get a strong bite on a NPT fitting if you tap it. Stop being cheap and weld some fittings in there and get it re-powder coated.
