I have an AEM intake and as you all know when you step on the throttle it makes that sucking sound but the other day (only head this on two seperate occasions), it was making a loud whining noise, sounded like a turbo at high rpms, when I slowed down the whining subdued, when i stepped on it, it got extremely loud, possibly a cut in the intake?

 

Get a sound clip if possible. I bet I could figure it out.

My car's made every noise in the book.

I'd start with a spray bottle of wd-40 and LIGHTLY mist in certain areas and see if your idle changes (hold your throttle open untill you hear whinning than spray at connections and even try your intake manifold gasket.

Or listen through a long hallowed tube, have someone rev your motor and use the tube to help locate where the noise is comming from.

My f22 sounds like a turbo, its just the suction at the throttle body though and its not very audible while driving.
