Default Stupid Cat Q........

Well here goes my dumb Q. i drive a 97 EJ8. I currently have a brand new Magnaflow OBD1 cat laying around. I was wondering if i can just put that one on my 97 civic. or is it a problem? Why and why not? I mean they look identical. Is there something im missing?

Well I just finished doing smog so that's not a concern now for atleast 2 years. And when u say 2nd o2 bung what is that please explain cuz im retarded when it comes to parts. Also this won't mess up my secondary o2 will it? Or will I lose any hp or anything with the obd1 cat or is it the same crap.

Well im guessing that the installer is going to keep the original one or add the bung. But performance wise would it affect it. How about gas wise? Im thinking my cats screwed already, my car is a 97 and it has 148,000 miles with original cat and muffler. Im thinking maybe that's why I feel my car kind of powerless and stuff. What do you guys think?

just ask the muffler shop to create a O2 bung after the cat and install the second O2 sensor there. i done this on my gf's 97 prelude and i dont get any CELs.

Well then I guess ill give it a shot and see what happens. I got nothing to lose really. I already did the smog so I got nothing to worry about. Not till 2 years from now by then ill just buy a obd2 one. So im going to go head and do it, since im tired of my car being powerless as hell. Maybe this will do the trick. Hopefully.

x2, get one put in. You could try the 02 sensor fouler to the 2nd 02 if you have an aftermarket (obd2) header
