How to clean intercooler?

Default How to clean intercooler?

I found a little bit of oil in my intercooler and charge pipe, how do you clean it. what to know what you used to do the job.

dont pressure wash, i *** up my radiator doing it.

would i buy like brake cleaner,engine degreaser? or something to spray inside the intercooler to take off the oil and wash it down with soap and water. rinse it with water then let it dry completely or something? that what i am thinking

brake cleaner would also work.

I just took the ic off. Put a cup or 2 of gas in it and shook is around with my hands covering the end tanks.

Repeat until the gas comes out clear.

This reminds me back in the day (80s) old school parts cleaner before all the aerosol cleaners.

Might want to fix your leaky seals first. The oil got in there for a reason.

All you guys saying "don't use a pressure washer".... why would you try to pressure wash the INSIDE of the intercooler? Makes no sense at all.

Dump some full strength grease cutting liquid in there (409 comes to mind since simple green has a tendency to leave a white film on aluminum), add warm water, cover both ends with your hands and shake the hell out of it. Repeat until all oil is gone.
