Recently i put a new motor in my car...D15b7 and kept my D16z6 Head (Mini Me Swap) i did an oil change on the motor 5w-30 Castrol Full Synthetic. Oil level is a little over the full mark but im told it wont harm it.
Anyways i start the car and the Oil Pressure light Stays Lit for a second longer that it should then turns off every time...It also seems like the engine has to build up when i start it...This Whole Process Take Maybe 2 seconds but its Noticable
After all of that the engine runs Perfectly fine...No Oil Lights or Power loss..

What could be the cause of this and what could possibly fix it?

 

well my ek oil light flashs quicky but doesnt stay on. you try a engine flush?

 

the light goes right past the system check for like a second or 2

 

mine does the same thing, i was told that it's nothin to worry about.

my d16 only does it when im low on oil but it flashes quick instead

 

mine does the same thing bro, i wouldnt worry, but if someone thinks we should, we all have to fix it!

I jsut did a gsr swap in my ek.. It wasnt on before but then after driving around I noticed wierd idling and the oil pressure light comes on.. I also loose a lil power like its about to shut off... After seeing this I quickly shut off the engine to prevent any damage.. I wonder what could be the problem.. anyone know the answer???

your losing pressure so it will shut off to prevent damage, new pump

 

U jsut did a swap right??? check your wiring again!!! my light was on and turns out that I didnt have one of the wires hooked up.. it wasnt a sensor but one of those plug in pin wires.. double check your work make sure no wire is loose

 

haha good thought but the light turns on but still turns off...and you can clearly tell somethings a miss when it starts...thanks tho

you may have a knock then.. does it sound like marbles are moving around in your engine when you start the car for a few seconds?? if so then you need to change your oil pump or do some serious rebuilding

 

nah no knocks... thats the funny thing...runs pretty much perfect. I actually recently pulled my last motor for a knock and now it runs fine...just that lil startup issue.. Idk maybe im just trippin. People who hear it say im overreacting...Guess it just a driver knows his car..oh well
