Default Keyless Entry in my 98 Honda civic Ex Stopped working after I put in a new deck...

Ok, so I been reading about what everyone has put about the control being in the old deck. My problem is that I have no idea where that deck is now (2 years later). I really miss my keyless entry and would like to get it fixed. Is there something else I can do to have that working again?

no the stock deck is responsible for control of your keyless, im an installer and where i work we even have special harnesses that allow you to keep the stock deck hooked up just so that you still have keyless, nothing else you can do about it except go aftermarket which is pretty easy to do.

The only thing short of getting that old deck is getting an aftermarket keyless system put in as far as I know. I may be wrong though.

also, even if you got a new stock deck, it would have to be programed to your keypad, i think i have directions on how to do this if you find one but itll be alot easier and cheaper to go aftermarket, and besides who wants a stock radio

I got an aftermarket deck b/c my stock radio was just that, just a radio. Not even a tape player. Maybe he had the same situation?

I would probably change it in that case. But sometimes you can get the OEM add-on's

you can keep the keyless entry working as lomg as you relocated the original radio somewhere in the car all you have to do is provide power to the oem one... did you happen to loose your domelight aswell???
