Default Misfire codes

Keep getting P0301 misfire cylinder 1 code. Have changed, plug, coil and PCV. Based on what I've read earlier, I guess this means I need a valve adjustment...but why on only one cylinder? Comments?

first do a dompression test and a leakdown test. this engine should have upqwards of 230psi per cylinder. see what your compression is and go from there. it may need a valve adjustment, valves, valve guides, valve seats, piston rings etc.

so don't think is only a valve adjustment issue, that's one of many causes of misfires. good luck and keep us updated!

i had the misfire code once. I got some bad or old or something in my gas when I filled up once. I thought a misfire code in all 4 cylinders and the multiple misfire code too. I had to drain my tank, clear the codes and I haven't seem them since.

when u changed everything out, did u reset the ecu?

swap out the #1 with everything from the #2, 3, or 4 and then reset the ecu... then see if its #1 still... if it changed then its something correlated with whatever u swapped out from #1... then u can narrow down whats causing the misfire...

Joe- After spending 23 years flying A-6s and F/A-18 in the Marines, I hardly need an adolescent like you to lecture me about "some people rather dying than thinking". I've gotten some actual assistance from some of the less childish posters, which I appreciate. Beyond this e-mail, your need to feel superior by denigrating new posters to this thread will not be read, or respponded to by me.

that "dying rather than thinking" thing is in his signature - i.e. it is a generic comment that crops up with every post of his. Not directed at you.

muaahahahahahaahahahahahaha... haha i feel like graf
wow that was weird...

couple of things LtCol Al Pavsner USMC (Ret):
1: this is not an email, this is a post responding on the thread you started.

2: the "some people rather..." quote is my signature, like the one that everyone has on their posts. is actually from one of my favorites books by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and i wasn't talking about you so don't get your panties all wet...

3: i could care less what you did, do or will do with your personal life, but please, before you ridicule yourself anylonger, try to learn what a forum is and how it works. i.e you start a thread with a question and i answer on a post.

anyways, did you get something fixed or what?
and btw i'm one of the nice guys here
