Default my new setup

im going to start putting my new setup into my 92 cx sometime next week when my motor comes in from hmotors i ordered a early model b20b (96-98) im picking up a obd0 ls intake mani this week wich im told is same as an obd1 ls intake i already have a obd1 gsr throttle body and i have a choice between a p28 and a p72 both virgin and either one will soon have neptune rtp installed ill be using hasport mounts to hold this thing in. anyone see any flaws in this setup? motor will be sprayed in the mean time and will eventualy be swapped to b20v with a gsr head and then boosted but that wont be till the head is built and ready to be installed and i have a full turbo kit.

obd-0 ls manifolds are ugly. id find a obd-1. but why you gonna use a vtec ecu for a non vtec motor? yeah you gonna get a head later, but in the meantime you gonna drive around with a check engine light on. if you gonna boost, you should just might as well get a complete ls swap or gsr swap and boost that.

not to burst anyones bubble but a boosted/sprayed b20 on stock sleeves has a shorter life expectancy than an ebola virus patient

theyre lifespan isnt to bad especialy on a very good tune quality parts and a small shot. wen my car is boosted im planing to run a custom vwr intake manifold and turbo manifold all custom intercooler and exhuast piping and a ball bearing garret vented valve cover all forged internals re sleeved and a ported gsr head

Not a fan of the b20 blocks.... but hey whatever floats your boat. But just for the heads up 9's arent as easy as you may think, it takes alot more thatn just some spray and boost.

Man, You have some HIGH hopes....

STOCK without spray, you will be lucky to break into the high 14's, You may JUST kiss 13's with a BIG spray, like a 75 shot.

9-10 second civics are SERIOUS power cars, like well north of 400hp, so I wanna know how big of a shot you plan to run on a 127hp engine to even THINK you will kiss 12's let alone 9's

I still find it funny that he thinks he can hit 10's on a stock block

He would have alot better chances and reliability with a stock ls block and forged internals, they have Stronger sleeves and more capable of revving. 10's are possible on a stock block turbo setup but it comes down to alot more variables, trans, slicks, traction, reaction time, driver skill, etc....

To the O.P. what has you stuck on the b20 block? If its just because your friend is in the low 11's? b/c there's plenty of stock block ls/vtec's, gsr's, and b16's well into the 10's. I would rather go that route and have a better block design.

10s on stock block isnt impossible like stated already traction, trans, and skill plays a very big role.b20 is very cheap and easy to find they will hold a good amount of boost on stock bottom.

What do u consider a good amount of boost? Frankly i wouldnt push a stock block b20 hard enough to fall well into the 10's.... unless i was ready to pull the motor when a sleeve cracked

20lbs of boost with a small shot and yes i know it wont last long but b20s are cheap if i dont have the money when it blows to build the motor and im going to put in arp headstuds and a new headgasket and a crx in vegas with a very close to identical setup just went 10.8 on an internaly stock b20
