Default Ls Turbo build

A couple quick questions. Keep in mind I will be building whatever is necessary for my setup. I am looking for 350 to 400 whp reliable daily driver. I currently have a ls turbo setup in my car and am ready for more power.

1.) is the ls head worth building

2.)would I be better off converting to an ls vtec with a gsr head or b16 head?

In my personal opinion i would say The LSvtec would be faster but keeping the LS head and building it will prove more reliable in the long run.. others might tell you diffrent

I have seen bone stock b18a/b18b that have seen 11's in the 1/4 mile. Upgrading a VTEC head you have to think about 2 things, first the GSR head will up the compression of your motor hence why it has a slight compression difference than the b16. Alot of people run a b16 head with GSR or ITR cams.

2.)would I be better off converting to an ls vtec with a gsr head or b16 head? Yes it would be worth it because you can pick up a b16 head for around 300 bucks.

Very good. Thanks for the input. I actually just found a guy who is going to sell me a gsr head that was just rebuilt for $300. I am going to fully build the short block and with the gsr head and a good tune with turbo setup. would 350 to 400 whp be reasonable?

what I am asking is the gsr head capable of supporting that kind of power stock or do I need to do valves, springs, and retainers?

I would say you can hit those numbers easy with a good tune.
