Keep breaking engine mount
I have a '97 Del with a JDM SIRII swap and somehow i have managed to break the rear engine mount twice in the last year. Are the OEM mounts so weak that a little (ok, a lot of) spirited driving should do that?
Now one thing I noticed last time I replaced it is that when the swap was done, the lower front tranny mount was not installed, in fact the whole bracket is missing. I was under the impression that the lower mounts weren't that important.
Would I be better off tracking down a new tranny bracket and mount or simply upgrading the stock mount to urethane?
Thanks,
Sparky

Upgrade to better mounts all around. If your other mounts are shot, stress may be all getting focused on the rear mount. To be honest, Ive never heard of this happening. What are you doing, clutch dumps at 7k? lol
thats the thing, all the mounts are new. this time when it broke I was going into a corner, downshifted to second, came out of the corner and floored the pedal (about 5k rpm) and bang. I am always soft on the downshift too.
only the rear mount broke and the other two are ok? the lower tranny torque mount is important and maybe thats the reason why your rear mount kept breaking.the ac bracket mount is important too.and even i am running with hasport motor mounts, i still have tranny torque mount on and ac mount on

u will need b series torque tranny mount, 94-01 integra will work and type r will work too. but d series wont fit.

Yeah, a good motorsports place took a look at my engine bay and said to get some lower torque mounts in there...if nothing else they'll help with wheel hop.
So find yourself that bracket/mount and hook up all the mount with inserts or fill 'um yourself. GL!

well bit the bullet and bought a new bracket and mount. mount was cheap, Honda sure rapes you on bolts and washers. Man does it make a difference. if anyone tells you those mounts arent important, punch them in the ear.
