Default Shifter play

I just picked up a 90 hatch with a B16 in it. The car runs pretty good but it has a TON of shifter play. For example, when I have the car in fifth gear I can move the shifter over to where first gear is. I did a few searches and I think it could be one of several things, including the "bitch pin", shifter bushings, or something that apparently falls out when you take the shifter out if it is really worn. I only read one thread discussing the later and I didn't really understand it.

For those of you who have had this problem please let me know if I am going down the right path. Thanks

Is this the set of bushings I should look into getting, or is there another part number for the b-series motors? I ask because it says these are for d-series engines, so I don't know if they will work or not. http://www.energysuspensionpar...=1020

go under your car and check everything holding the shift linkage up to eliminate some solutions, or maybe find the solution.
